** Due to the overwhelming number of submissions we have recieved (and a lack time on the part of the editors) we have decided to close submissions for a time. We will reopen submissions once we've made it through our backlog. If you have been waiting an excessive amount of time to hear back from us, please accept our apologies. This is a side project for all of us, so we do what we are able when we are able. We also want to be sure that all of your work is read and seriously considered, which takes time. When we reopen submissions it will likely be for one or two months a year to give us time to read.

Loaded Bicycle is an online journal of poetry, art, and translation published as often as we are able.

We are dedicated to publishing emerging and established writers, translators, and artists and are open to collaborative projects in all genres. We are especially excited to publish collaborations between poets and comic artists and would be interested in seeing translations of comics.

Contributors for the first and second issue include Johsua Beckman, Ana Bozicevic, Anne Carson, Karen Emmerich, Matthea Harvey, Matthew Rohrer, Craig Rubadoux, Glenn Shaheen, Michael Shapcott, Bianca Stone, Tricia Taaca, Paul Tunis, M.A. Vizsolyi, and more. Please read our first issue before submitting.

Though we will not pass up excellent work based on aesthetic preference, we are particularly open to work that pays close attention to sound and language while remaining planted in the phantasmagoria of the mundane.

We do not accept fiction or non-fiction, though we are open to short cross-genre work.

3-6 poems previously unpublished. The only exception we will make to this rule is if the poems are part of a collaborative project. Read the issue to see what we like.

3-10 translations from the same or multiple projects. Send us your best.

Up to 10 pieces in digital format. See previous art we have published to determine our aesthetic. Find a poet and work with them. Send us what you make together. Or what you make alone.
